The European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) announced that authorities from Europe, the United States, and Canada have shut down over 300 servers worldwide and issued international arrest warrants for 20 suspects as part of a campaign targeting malicious software. This operation is part of what has been dubbed “Operation Endgame.”
This week, officials from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada collaborated to tackle some of the most dangerous malware types and those involved in its distribution.
More than 30 suspects have been identified, with criminal charges brought against twenty individuals. Over 300 servers have been disabled globally, along with 650 domains, and cryptocurrencies worth €3.5 million have been seized.
These actions follow efforts undertaken in May 2024, which marked the largest operation against malicious network activities to date.
In total, €21.2 million has been confiscated during the initiative that commenced in 2024.
A number of key suspects in the malware operations are facing both international and domestic legal actions. Today, German authorities are expected to add 18 of them to the EU’s wanted list.
