The Dubai Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy and the Sukuk Al-Waqf initiative have been honored by awarding the “Dubai Endowment Mark” to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) for its contribution to the first charitable endowment initiative in the region.
Issa Al Ghaith, Chairman of the Dubai Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, presented the “Dubai Endowment Mark” to HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, in the presence of Ali Al-Matou, Secretary-General of the Foundation, and Zainab Juma Al-Tamimi, Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy and the Gift, and a number of officials from both sides.
Representatives from DEWA including Eng. Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence, Dr. Yousif Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Support Services, and Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future, attended the event.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stated, “At DEWA, we are committed to our social responsibility and national role in supporting charitable and developmental initiatives that contribute to achieving the vision of the wise leadership in establishing the concepts of giving and sustainability. Our support for the Sukuk Al-Waqf initiative is a practical translation of our institutional social responsibility and our strategy to enhance community partnerships and enhance the positive impact of our work in serving the community and promoting the innovative endowment system.”
Issa Al Ghaith confirmed that DEWA was one of the first entities to contribute to the Sukuk Al-Waqf initiative launched in 2022, providing a contribution of five million dirhams divided into installments over a period of three years. He praised the noble contribution of DEWA, which supported the humanitarian targets of the Sukuk Al-Waqf initiative.
He further added that awarding the Dubai Endowment Mark to DEWA is a recognition of its role in enhancing social responsibility.
