The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences held the inaugural meeting for the evaluation of local and Gulf awards for the 2025 cycle yesterday. This event featured judging panels alongside a distinguished group of experts and educators to ensure a comprehensive and transparent assessment process.
Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, the coordinator and head of the judging committees, stated, “The evaluation process is a crucial phase in the awards journey. We rely on scientific principles and objective criteria to select models that provide real added value to the educational sector. Our focus extends beyond just academic excellence; we look for initiatives that create a tangible positive impact within their educational environments and promote a culture of innovation and quality.”
This year’s awards saw a remarkable level of participation, with a total of 288 nominations received at both local and Gulf levels.
Locally, the foundation has received 189 nominations, with the most significant share going to the Outstanding Student category, which attracted 122 submissions. This was followed by the Outstanding Teacher category with 30 submissions, and the Outstanding Educator category with 20. Additionally, there were 7 nominations for the Outstanding University Student category, 8 for the Outstanding School category, and 2 from supporting educational institutions.
On the Gulf level, there were 105 nominations overall, which included 31 submissions in the Outstanding Student category (both academic and non-academic), 30 in the Gulf Outstanding Teacher category, 16 in the Outstanding Educator category, and 28 in the Outstanding School category.
