India Affirms Ongoing Ceasefire With Pakistan

An Indian military official confirmed today that the ceasefire agreement established between India and Pakistan on May 12 will continue.

“Regarding the continuation of the ceasefire as agreed, there is no expiration date,” he stated, dispelling any notions that the truce was temporary and would conclude today, according to a report by the Press Trust of India.

He further mentioned that there are no discussions scheduled between the directors general of military operations from both nations.

It is noteworthy that a recent armed attack resulted in the death of 26 tourists in the Indian-administered region of Kashmir. New Delhi has held Islamabad accountable for the assault, which Pakistan has denied any involvement in.

Both nations have engaged in cross-border fire, resulting in casualties and injuries on both sides.

Through American mediation, the two nuclear-capable neighbors agreed to halt all military operations on land, in the air, and at sea immediately.
