In a related development, Saudi Arabia expressed its approval of this move, viewing it as a “historic decision” that affirms “the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.”
The Saudi Foreign Ministry emphasized on its platform that it calls on “other countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to take similar constructive steps and serious positions in support of peace and the rights of the Palestinian people.”

The Palestinian Authority and various Arab nations have welcomed President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of his intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine in September.
