Israeli Army Kills Two Palestinians in the West Bank

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced yesterday that Israeli forces have killed two Palestinians, including a teenager, in separate incidents in the central and southern parts of the occupied West Bank.

According to the ministry’s statement, the 15-year-old child, Amjad Nassar Abu Awwad, was shot by Israeli soldiers in Ramallah, while 24-year-old Samer Bassam Zgharane was also fatally shot by soldiers near the town of Dhahiriya in the southern West Bank. The Israeli military stated that they are “investigating” the incidents.

Last week, four Palestinians, including a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old, were killed in separate events in the village of Kafr Malik near Ramallah and the village of Tamoun in the northern West Bank. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have reportedly killed 947 Palestinians, the majority of whom are civilians, according to data from the Palestinian Authority.

In Hebron province, Israeli authorities issued demolition notices yesterday for homes, halted construction work on residences, a school, and a water network in the “Ashkara” area southeast of Yatta.

Palestinian media outlet Ma’an reported that media activist Osama Makhamra shared details of the demolition notices, which included a two-story house belonging to Ibrahim Mahmoud Abu Sabha, covering 150 square meters per floor, and a halt to construction on a house being built by Muhammad A’id Abu Sabha, which is approximately 140 square meters.

He added that a stop-work order was issued for a house belonging to Ra’fat Rizq Al-Shamseti, also estimated at about 140 square meters, and demolition notices were served for a two-story house owned by Omar Hamad Al-Nawaj’a, with each floor measuring around 200 square meters. Additionally, there was a stop-work order for a two-story house belonging to Rayan Muhammad Abu Sabha, where each floor is 150 square meters.

Moreover, it was confirmed that the notices included the final demolition warning for the Palestine Mixed Basic School, which consists of nine classrooms made of brick and metal sheets, catering to children from kindergarten through fourth grade, serving 130 students. There was also a notice halting work on the water supply network serving the “Ashkara” area and several neighboring regions.
