Israeli Defense Minister Threatens to Resume Fighting in Gaza

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a warning late Wednesday, stating that military operations against Hamas in Gaza could resume if the Palestinian group fails to comply fully with the ceasefire agreement. He emphasized that he had instructed the military to prepare a “plan to crush them” in the event of renewed hostilities.

In his statement, Katz remarked, “If Hamas refuses to adhere to the agreement, Israel, in coordination with the United States, will resume fighting and work towards completely defeating Hamas, changing the situation in Gaza and achieving all war objectives.”

This declaration followed an announcement from the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claiming that they had delivered all the remains of hostages they could access. They specified that they would require special equipment to retrieve the remaining bodies they are expected to hand over to Israel under the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
