Israeli airstrikes have reportedly hit the crucial port of Hodeidah, according to Yemeni media sources. This comes just hours after the Israeli military announced an evacuation order for the port in preparation for an impending assault on the region. Reports indicate that 12 airstrikes targeted the port’s docks.
The Houthi movement, a political and military group that controls the most densely populated areas of Yemen, has been attacking vessels in the Red Sea, describing these actions as part of a campaign to support Palestinians in Gaza.
Additionally, the group has been launching missiles towards Israel, most of which have been intercepted by Israeli defense systems. In response, Israel has conducted airstrikes on areas held by the Houthis in Yemen, including the vital port of Hodeidah.
Earlier today, Israel launched a long-anticipated ground offensive against Gaza City, stating that “Gaza is burning.” Palestinian reports have indicated that the region is experiencing the most intense bombardment seen in two years of conflict.
