Israeli Protests Demand an End to the War and the Release of Hostages

Groq, an AI inference platform based in the United States, and HUMAIN, a company owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), have jointly announced that OpenAI’s latest open-source models — gpt-oss-120B and gpt-oss-20B — are now available globally on GroqCloud. This initiative aims to deliver real-time responses, minimal latency, and local developer support within Saudi Arabia.

The launch offers developers comprehensive 128,000-token context windows, real-time inference capabilities, and access to features such as server-side code execution and web search.

The service is operational, with support provided regionally by HUMAIN, the leading AI service facilitator in Saudi Arabia.

OpenAI sets a new benchmark

“OpenAI is establishing a new standard for performance in open-source models,” remarked Jonathan Ross, CEO of Groq.

He further noted: “Groq was designed to efficiently run models like these, allowing developers to utilize them from the very beginning. Our collaboration with HUMAIN enhances local accessibility and support in Saudi Arabia.”

HUMAIN aims to enhance AI utilization in Saudi Arabia

According to Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, this collaboration is set to accelerate AI adoption within the region. “Groq provides the exceptional inference speed, scalability, and cost-effectiveness necessary to introduce advanced AI to the kingdom. Together, we are paving the way for a new era of innovation in Saudi Arabia.”

The two models — gpt-oss-120B and gpt-oss-20B — are engineered for high throughput on GroqCloud, allowing the 120B model to handle more than 500 tokens per second (t/s) and the 20B model to exceed 1,000 t/s.

The pricing structure is as follows:

  • gpt-oss-120B: $0.15 per million input tokens, $0.75 per million output tokens
  • gpt-oss-20B: $0.10 per million input tokens, $0.50 per million output tokens

For a limited period, Groq is offering no fees for tool calls utilizing OpenAI’s open models.

With its global infrastructure, which includes data centers across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, Groq ensures widespread accessibility and low latency. This collaboration also reinforces Groq’s support for OpenAI’s open-source projects, building upon previous implementations like Whisper.

HUMAIN, which specializes in comprehensive AI solutions, including data centers and applied AI, positions this partnership as a significant step in Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to lead in AI intellectual property and digital infrastructure.
