Khalid Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Participates in the Virtual Summit of BRICS Leaders

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, represented Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, at the virtual summit of BRICS leaders, which was inaugurated by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil.

During his address, Sheikh Khaled conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to the participating nations and expressed sincere wishes for the summit’s success.

He acknowledged the UAE’s appreciation for Brazil’s diligent leadership of BRICS since the start of the year and highlighted the significant outcomes from the 17th summit hosted in Rio de Janeiro on July 6 and 7.

Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of BRICS as a dynamic framework for international cooperation aimed at achieving development for its member countries and fostering global prosperity, aligning with the UAE’s ongoing commitment to building economic partnerships that support sustainable development for the benefit of all nations.

The virtual summit focused on ways to enhance mutual cooperation and explored solutions to bolster external trade among BRICS member states. It also emphasized economic integration through joint projects in infrastructure, energy, and digital transformation, aimed at fostering sustainable growth in developing nations, as well as strengthening political dialogue on global economic issues and challenges facing the global trading system.

Notable leaders participating in the summit included Xi Jinping, President of China; Vladimir Putin, President of Russia; Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of Egypt; Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa; Ebrahim Raisi, President of Iran; Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia; Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India; and Gedion Timothewos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
