The Dubai Judicial Institute has announced the launch of its inaugural specialized training program titled “Mediation and Judicial Settlement.” This initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the judicial skills and specialized knowledge of judicial authority assistants.
Spanning a duration of 17 weeks from early September to late December, the program will involve over 20 participants from the judiciary tasked with mediation and amicable settlement roles. It aims to provide a comprehensive and interactive training content that encompasses all necessary legal and technical skills related to the stages of mediation and settlement. This, in turn, is expected to expedite the resolution of disputes and strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a benchmark for efficient judicial processes.
Integrated Efforts
Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts, praised the Dubai Judicial Institute’s initiative in launching this specialized training program. He emphasized that it is part of the collective efforts to elevate the judicial system in Dubai and enhance the efficiency of judicial assistants through high-quality training programs that address contemporary justice requirements.
This program represents a significant step towards fostering a culture of mediation as a sustainable and effective means of resolving disputes. It provides advanced professional skills that enhance the quality of judicial work and expedite litigation processes. Furthermore, the program aligns with the emirate’s strategic directions for justice development by equipping judicial and support personnel with specialized knowledge and practical experience. Dubai Courts, with its vision of “Leadership and Justice for a Global City,” considers the development of human competencies as central to its strategy, believing that an advanced judicial system begins with empowering individuals and enhancing their qualifications and skills to meet client expectations and boost public confidence in the judiciary. We take pride in our constructive institutional partnership with the Dubai Judicial Institute and its pivotal role in promoting professional excellence among judicial and support staff. We look forward to more quality initiatives that will aid in achieving our shared goals towards sustainable justice and affirming Dubai’s position as a global center for legal and judicial leadership.
Institute’s Approach
Judge Dr. Ibtisam Ali Al Budwawi, General Director of the Dubai Judicial Institute, stated that the program represents a pioneering step in line with the wise leadership’s strategic direction to embed a culture of amicable solutions as a cornerstone of the comprehensive justice system. This program exemplifies the institute’s approach to empowering judicial authority assistants with the knowledge and skills necessary for expedited dispute resolution. It is also a valuable addition to our training system aimed at equipping talents with the essential skills to perform their duties efficiently and effectively, further enhancing Dubai’s ambitious vision toward providing integrated, swift, and sustainable judicial services.
The program will be delivered by a select group of judges, experts, and specialists from legal and judicial entities in the emirate. Participants will receive comprehensive training content that covers all legal and technical aspects necessary, negotiation skills, and contract drafting techniques.
