Launch of the New “Specialized Content Creators” Program

The Dubai Police General Command unveiled the “Biometric Tunnel” during the GITEX Global 2025 event. This innovative project, part of DubaiMetrics, is designed to analyze the physical movements of individuals passing through it, utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to create a unique motion signature that aids in identifying individuals based on their walking patterns.

According to Major Dr. Hamad Mansoor Al-Awar, the project manager, the Biometric Tunnel is a cutting-edge initiative by the Dubai Police that is currently in the research and development phase. It is applicable in forensic science, helping experts ascertain identities by assessing physical movements and their specific dimensions.

He stated that the Biometric Tunnel captures an individual’s motion signature in just five seconds upon entry, by measuring intricate details of their movement. This includes factors like joint movement and unique walking characteristics, along with distinguishing features that might influence their gait, such as flat feet.

Furthermore, the tunnel’s operating system depends on a comprehensive integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning, which combines the motion signature with other biometric data, such as facial and ear prints, along with various body measurements. This approach provides substantial evidence in criminal cases, especially when traditional methods of suspect identification are insufficient.

In conclusion, the mechanism for creating the motion signature relies on walking patterns, detailed measurements, joint movement, and distinctive walking characteristics. This methodology assists forensic experts in accurately identifying individuals and produces tangible evidence that supports police investigations and upholds justice.
