Macron: Trump’s Path to the Nobel Starts with Ending the Gaza War

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that if U.S. President Donald Trump genuinely aspires to win the Nobel Peace Prize, he needs to put an end to the conflict in Gaza.

In an interview on the French channel “BFM” yesterday in New York, Macron pointed out that Trump is the only one capable of applying pressure on Israel to halt the ongoing war.

Macron continued, saying, “There is one person who can do something about this, and that is the President of the United States. The reason he can achieve more than we can is that we do not supply weapons that facilitate war in Gaza. We are not providing equipment that allows for warfare in Gaza. The United States is doing that.”

Yesterday, Trump delivered a strong address at the United Nations General Assembly, rejecting the moves made by his Western allies to recognize a Palestinian state, arguing that it would reward Hamas fighters.

He said, “We need to stop the war in Gaza immediately. We must negotiate right away to establish peace.”

In response to Trump’s speech, Macron remarked, “I see an American president deeply involved in this matter, reiterating this morning from the podium: ‘I want peace. I have resolved seven conflicts,’ and he wants the Nobel Peace Prize. This award can only be earned by ending this conflict.”

Several nations, including Israel, Pakistan, and Cambodia, have nominated Trump for the annual Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his efforts in mediating peace agreements or ceasefires. Trump himself asserted that he deserves the prize, noting that four former U.S. presidents have received it.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated, “President Trump has put forth greater efforts for peace than all attendees at the United Nations combined.”

She added, “This president alone can achieve all of this for global stability, as he has effectively contributed to restoring America’s strength.”
