Maktoum bin Mohammed Meets Chairman and CEO of Eldridge Industries

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, met today (Thursday) at the Dubai International Financial Centre with Todd Boehly, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Eldridge Industries, a leading global firm in asset management and insurance.

During the meeting, they explored potential collaborations in investment, media, advanced technologies, and sports, while also reviewing opportunities for developing strategic partnerships that enhance Dubai’s investment climate. This is part of the broader objectives outlined in Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate’s economy and establish its position among the top three cities globally.

Sheikh Maktoum emphasized that Dubai is advancing its status as a premier global investment destination by fostering a flexible economic environment and a progressive legislative framework that promotes transparency and stimulates growth across various vital sectors. He highlighted the emirate’s commitment to providing all necessary resources to facilitate business establishment and expansion, creating an inspiring environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.

He also pointed out that Dubai’s ambitions extend beyond merely attracting investments; the emirate seeks to forge sustainable strategic partnerships with leading global companies to generate genuine economic value that supports comprehensive development goals and enhances its position as a competitive global economic hub.

The First Deputy Ruler of Dubai expressed his openness to international companies sharing Dubai’s vision for reshaping the new economy sectors, including media, sports, and innovative technologies, viewing these areas as essential drivers of sustainable growth and foundational pillars of the future economy. This will aid in diversifying national income sources and strengthening Dubai’s status on the global economic map.

In response, Todd Boehly commended Dubai’s remarkable achievements in attracting investments and fostering innovation. He reiterated Eldridge Industries’ enthusiasm for expanding its presence in the region through Dubai, which has emerged as a global economic center and an ideal location for growth in finance, media, entertainment, and sports sectors.

Boehly noted that the company manages assets exceeding $70 billion through its branches, Eldridge Capital Management and Eldridge Wealth Solutions, employs over 5,000 staff members, and holds investments in more than 100 operational companies worldwide across media, entertainment, financial technology, insurance, and sports sectors. His portfolio includes notable media and entertainment entities as well as ownership of several prestigious sports clubs, such as Chelsea Football Club, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, and His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
