Maktoum Bin Mohammed: The UAE Continues to Strengthen Bridges of Collaboration with the World

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, affirmed that the United Arab Emirates is continuously fostering cooperation bridges with the global community. This statement came during his meeting with Pierre Gramegna, the Minister of Finance of Luxembourg.

During the meeting, His Highness discussed ways to enhance collaboration between the two nations in various critical sectors, primarily focusing on financial matters, trade exchange, innovation, and emerging technologies to support the comprehensive and sustainable development objectives of both parties.

In a post on his X account, His Highness stated: “Today, I reviewed with Minister Pierre Gramegna opportunities to strengthen economic and financial cooperation between our countries, based on Dubai and Luxembourg’s positions as global financial hubs. We discussed developing partnerships in financial innovation and fintech solutions, as well as sustainable financing solutions. In the UAE, we continue to build bridges of cooperation with the world, relying on a solid financial foundation and an attractive regulatory environment, ensuring our nation remains a global platform from which businesses can create opportunities and expand growth horizons in our region and beyond.”

The meeting took place at the Dubai Investment Corporation headquarters, where discussions centered on the bilateral ties between the UAE and Luxembourg and ways to elevate them, particularly within the economic framework. The importance of identifying new paths for collaboration in developing resilient financial systems tailored to meet the future demands for sustainable finance was emphasized, in line with the economic development plans and strategies of both countries.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Luxembourg Minister also explored opportunities to enhance cooperation and share successful experiences in financial and banking services, leveraging the esteemed positions of Dubai and Luxembourg as leading global financial centers. This includes strengthening collaboration in fintech and blockchain technology.

The meeting also addressed the strong economic capabilities of the UAE, including its advanced financial infrastructure, developed regulatory environment, and services that support the global finance and investment community. These strengths affirm its position as an ideal platform for companies based in Luxembourg looking to expand regionally and globally.

Additionally, partnership opportunities in developing sustainable financing solutions, financial innovation, and collaboration between investment funds and financial centers of both nations were discussed.
