Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center Launches “Green Innovation for a Sustainable Environment

The Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center has launched the initiative titled “Green Innovation for a Sustainable Environment: Together Towards Environmental Awareness for Sustainable Education.” This project aims to promote a better quality of life by adopting methods designed to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities, while also fostering sustainability and social responsibility to strike a balance among environmental, economic, and social needs. Its goal is to meet the requirements of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to fulfill their own needs.

Notably, this initiative recently won the Khalifa Educational Award in its 18th edition, specifically in the institutional category within the field of education and community service.

Mariam Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, commented in an interview: “The founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, laid a pioneering model for environmental action and made it a cornerstone for achieving sustainability for future generations.”

The “Green Innovation for a Sustainable Environment” project addresses various aspects affecting quality of life, such as environmental resource quality, promoting awareness of the importance of sustainability and environmental preservation, and achieving a balance among economic, social, and environmental factors, all while embracing positive thinking as a fundamental value and building life skills.

Al Shamsi further stated: “The program aims to enhance the national strategy for quality of life by transitioning to a comprehensive concept of integrated quality of life that supports the UAE Vision 2031 and contributes to achieving the UAE Centennial Goals 2071.”

The project includes activities and initiatives that strengthen the cultural center’s position as a recognized destination within the community, reflecting the nation’s commitment to prioritize the quality of life of its citizens and continuously develop and ensure sustainability in this vital sector.

Additionally, the initiative has a set of objectives that encourage individuals to adopt sustainable, healthy lifestyle choices that show consideration for the environment. It motivates everyone to aim for comprehensive well-being through positive daily lifestyle changes.

The project also targets awareness initiatives that promote commitment to environmental conservation and guarantee its sustainability for future generations by enhancing community partnerships with relevant institutions, thereby improving quality of life across all dimensions. It is emphasized that the project supports education and offers activities for school students at the center and various schools.
