Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Inspires Young Readers at the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is participating in a rich and diverse program, offered in both Arabic and English, which includes an array of interactive workshops and creative activities tailored for children and young adults.

This initiative is part of the 16th edition of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, running from April 23rd to May 4th. The events kick off with a workshop titled “The Zoo Story,” which highlights the art of origami.

In this workshop, children will learn to create animal shapes in a fun and innovative way. It will be followed by a creative session called “Little Artist: Be a Writer,” designed to encourage participating kids to unleash their imagination and creativity while learning writing basics interactively.

Workshop Highlights

The program also features a workshop named “Emotions,” where children will engage in artistic and expressive activities to explore their inner world in a simplified manner. They will learn to identify and positively express various human emotions.

The festival will conclude with a session called “Future Professions,” which provides an interactive space for children to explore their future career aspirations through activities that blend learning and fun.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library’s involvement in the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival aligns with its role as a leading knowledge center, housing nine specialized libraries, including a children’s library with over 83,000 books, featuring Braille publications for individuals with disabilities, and a youth library that offers around 18,000 resources across various fields.

Stimulating Environment

This library creates an inspiring educational atmosphere with designated areas for reading, studying, and entertainment. It also provides advanced digital services, including a flexible membership system that allows different age groups easy access to library resources.

Among these offerings is a special membership for children that allows free access to books and digital content, as well as memberships tailored for students and individuals, enabling them to access a wide range of books, knowledge resources, and electronic databases.

Notably, this marks the second year for the library’s participation in the festival, which previously resulted in over 1,800 children taking part in interactive workshops.
