Organizing Events to Highlight National Identity: “Watan Fund” Celebrates the Creators of the UAE

The “Watan Fund” pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair continues to welcome visitors daily from 9 AM to 9 PM, offering a comprehensive array of activities tailored for children, youth, and adolescents.

These events feature a variety of sessions, spotlighting a special session where the Watan Fund highlighted the “Creative Production to Enhance National Identity” project, presented by writer Abdullah Al Shehi and moderated by Yasser Al Qargawy, Director General of Watan Fund. Another session titled “Moral Values as the Foundation of National Identity” was led by Dr. Ali Al Kinesi, a professor of philosophy and Islamic thought, alongside workshops focused on heritage, children’s stories, and Arabic calligraphy.

Members of national identity clubs from schools and universities across the UAE showcased the significance and achievements of these clubs, in addition to hosting activities involving handcrafts and heritage.

During the session dedicated to the “Creative Production to Enhance National Identity” project, which featured Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Head of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, along with numerous Emirati writers and artists, Yasser Al Qargawy praised the active role of Emirati thinkers and creatives in supporting this initiative. He clarified that the project receives direct sponsorship and oversight from His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Chairman of the Watan Fund. Its aim is to provide comprehensive support to Emirati creators, empowering them to contribute to the cultural landscape with works that reflect national identity and its values.
