Yesterday, 1.5 million pilgrims gathered on the plains of Arafat, performing the main ritual of Hajj, supplicating to Allah for forgiveness, mercy, and freedom from the fire. After spending the day at Arafat, the pilgrims moved to Muzdalifah, preparing for the day of sacrifice and the completion of the remaining Hajj rituals.
The pilgrims stoned the largest Jamrah, performed the sacrificial slaughter, and completed the Tawaf Al-Ifadah. They began the day of sacrifice by stoning the largest Jamrah in Muzdalifah, then circumambulated the Kaaba, and finally completed the minor pilgrimage rituals.
The pilgrims then spent the next three days in Mina, known as the Days of Tashreeq, with the option to limit the stay to two days and perform the stoning of the three Jamrahs on the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah, before leaving Mina before sunset.
After standing on the plains of Arafat, pilgrims moved to Muzdalifah, where they prayed Maghrib and Isha together before spending the night. They then returned to Mina to perform the stoning of the largest Jamrah, the sacrifice, and the cutting of hair on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
The journey from Arafat to Muzdalifah marks the third phase of the Hajj pilgrimage. The routes taken by the pilgrims were monitored by traffic and security personnel to ensure smooth movement.
Authorities announced the success of the plan to facilitate the movement of pilgrims from Arafat to Muzdalifah, with various sectors collaborating to secure the pilgrims’ journey. The transition of pilgrims was smooth, with security forces ensuring their safety and guidance.
In order to organize the flow of pilgrims coming to Mecca during this year’s Hajj season, Saudi authorities are utilizing artificial intelligence technologies to monitor maps, process data, and organize the flow of pilgrims effectively.
