The second edition of the “Dubai Date Festival,” organized by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center, concluded its activities from July 25 to August 1, 2025, at the Sand Castle on the Dubai-Al Ain Road. The event witnessed significant participation from date palm owners, local producers, and families, alongside notable official and public attendance.
This year’s edition reaffirmed the festival’s success as an annual gathering that merges tradition with innovation, honoring the date palm as a national symbol reflecting Emirati identity and promoting the principle of sustainability.
Awards Ceremony
During the final day, the winners of the “Nadar Cup” were celebrated. The awards were presented by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, in addition to other dignitaries such as Issa Mohammed Khalifa Al Matroushi, Deputy Director-General of the Dubai Ruler’s Court, and Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, CEO of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center.
Recognition
In a gesture of appreciation, the “Dubai Date Festival” awarded the Dubai Date Award 2025 to the late Salem Mohammed Ghannem bin Al Sheikh and Sultan bin Khalifa Al Habtoor, recognizing their significant contributions to preserving the date palm heritage and their ongoing support for this vital sector. Sponsors and supporters who played a role in the event’s success were also honored.
Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk expressed his pride in what the “Dubai Date Festival” has achieved, highlighting that the event has become a solid annual platform that enhances the social and cultural value of the date palm and supports the nation’s goals of preserving its national heritage and Emirati identity.
The festival attracted a large audience and hosted numerous booths showcasing the finest types of dates and rare date palm seedlings. It also featured workshops and cultural exhibitions.
Several educational and heritage organizations participated in offering hands-on, interactive workshops focused on the care of date palms, encouraging the younger generation to engage with this essential aspect of Emirati heritage.
