Sharjah Executive Issues Decision to Regulate Brokerage in the Auction Market

The Executive Council of Sharjah convened yesterday morning under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, who is also the Chair of the Executive Council. Joining him was His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chair of the Executive Council.

During the meeting held at the Ruler’s office, the council discussed various general topics related to the execution of government operations, examining public policies of governmental departments and agencies, along with their roles in achieving Sharjah’s vision and strategy.

The council issued a regulation regarding the management of brokerage activities in the car auction market within Sharjah, which mandates that no individual can engage in brokerage activities related to car auctions without obtaining a permit from the Sharjah Asset Management Company, in accordance with specified conditions and regulations.

The regulation also outlined the administrative penalties for violations and the legal enforcement powers granted to employees designated by the competent authority, as decreed by the President of the Judiciary Council.

Additionally, the council reviewed the annual report from Sharjah International Airport for the year 2024, highlighting significant achievements in passenger and aircraft traffic, as well as modern services and new projects aligned with airport growth.

According to the report, passenger traffic in 2024 exceeded 17 million travelers, alongside notable increases in aircraft operations and air freight volume, reflecting strong confidence in the services provided by Sharjah International Airport.

The report also included updates on the progress and completion rates of new projects, part of an ongoing initiative to develop and expand Sharjah International Airport. New enhancements featured in the report include the addition of 12 new aircraft parking spots, an expansion of the passenger check-in area, the completion of a new engineering and maintenance management building, and an increase in flight destinations with the attraction of new airlines for both passengers and cargo.
