Sharjah Fashion Development Lab: A Premier Destination for Creatives

Sheikha Hour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah for Creativity and Chairperson of the Sharjah Art Foundation, emphasized that the “Sharjah Fashion Development Lab” will play a significant role in enhancing the vibrant cultural landscape of the emirate by providing a platform for designers to collaborate and exchange ideas.

She further stated, “Our goal is to empower local designers in refining their skills and elevating their work through a supportive environment equipped with the latest tools and technologies. This lab reflects our commitment to fostering creative industries in the emirate and encouraging youth to present innovative ideas that align with the evolving regional and international fashion landscape.”

The lab will focus on developing fashion models and designs according to international industry standards, creating specialized digital patterns for production, producing 3D virtual fashion prototypes, and manufacturing limited quantities of fashion items (up to 30 pieces). It will also offer consultancy services in production and preparation for entering both local and global markets, develop programs for local fashion makers and designers, and provide opportunities for education and professional development in the fashion sector. Additionally, it will facilitate business activities and participation in local and international markets to showcase these innovative creations.

The “Sharjah Fashion Development Lab” is expected to serve as a crucial launching pad for local designers towards diverse and new markets, acting as a bridge between local creativity and global demands, thus opening new horizons for aspiring designers.
