Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan Appointed as Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a royal decree appointing Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan as the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia. He will also serve as the head of the Senior Scholars Authority and the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta at the ministerial level.

This appointment comes in light of a proposal from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz following the passing of the former Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, on September 23.
