Sheikha Fatima: The UAE Has Given Women a Central Role in Comprehensive Development

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the “Mother of the Emirates,” who is the President of the UAE General Women’s Union and the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, hosted a meeting yesterday at the Al Bahar Palace in Abu Dhabi with Mrs. Tamara Vučić, the wife of His Excellency Aleksandar Vučić, the President of Serbia, who is currently visiting the UAE.

The meeting included discussions on the relations between the two friendly nations and ways to enhance cooperation to serve mutual interests, as well as strengthen collaboration between women’s organizations in both countries to promote women’s empowerment and support family stability.

At the start of the meeting, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima welcomed Mrs. Tamara Vučić and expressed her hope that this visit would foster cooperation and experience sharing in women’s initiatives between the UAE and Serbia.

She emphasized that, under the guidance of the country’s leadership, the UAE has placed women in a pivotal position in the comprehensive development process, demonstrating their ability to actively contribute to the nation’s growth.

Her Highness added that the collaboration between social, women’s, and developmental organizations in both countries will enhance bilateral partnerships, reinforcing efforts to empower women and preserve family values, while promoting peace and coexistence among peoples.

Empowerment

For her part, Mrs. Tamara Vučić expressed her deep appreciation for Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s innovative efforts in supporting and empowering women, highlighting her impactful role in enhancing the status of families and protecting children. She praised the significant achievements of Emirati women, which have qualified them to occupy leadership roles across various fields.

Mrs. Vučić conveyed her eagerness to strengthen collaboration between the two nations in areas related to women’s empowerment, family support, and child protection through the exchange of experiences and development of joint programs, which would elevate the role of women in society and bolster family stability. She affirmed that the partnership between women’s institutions in the UAE and Serbia will open new avenues for humanitarian and developmental cooperation between the two nations.

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima also hosted a dinner in honor of Mrs. Tamara Vučić.

The meeting and dinner were attended by several Emirati female leaders and dignitaries.
