Strengthening Women – The Journey of Sakshi Nath

Discover how Sakshi Nath integrates her diverse entrepreneurial talents to enhance Dubai’s culinary and beauty scenes as the owner of Queens Beauty Lounge and co-founder of Trèsind.

Can you share your background with us?

I began my career as a fashion designer in New Delhi, India. After moving to Nigeria post-marriage, I opened a boutique that realized my passion for fashion. In 2008, I moved to Dubai, entering the restaurant industry with my husband. However, my true calling has always been in beauty, and I always aspired to enter the spa and salon sector. My journey has progressed from fashion to gastronomy and ultimately to beauty, showcasing my evolving creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

What motivated you to delve into the beauty industry and establish Queens Beauty Lounge?

Beauty has long been my passion. Throughout the years, I recognized the significance of self-care and the confidence that comes from an exceptional beauty experience. Noticing a gap for a high-quality beauty lounge that caters to women’s needs comprehensively, I felt compelled to transform my vision into reality. Queens Beauty Lounge was founded on the belief that every woman deserves to feel like royalty—pampered, empowered, and beautiful.

Trèsind has transformed the Indian fine dining experience. What was your vision when you launched it in 2014, and how has it progressed since?

When we opened Trèsind in 2014, our goal was to alter the perception of Indian cuisine, showcasing its intricacies, creativity, and innovation while retaining its authenticity. We aimed to provide guests with a multi-sensory culinary experience, making each meal memorable. Since then, Trèsind has become a leader in progressive Indian cuisine, setting global trends and sustaining cultural roots. Today, it continues to push boundaries, offering a dining experience that is elevated, immersive, and unforgettable, emphasizing empowerment and self-care at Queens Beauty Lounge.

How do you ensure your brand embodies this philosophy?

At Queens Beauty Lounge, we believe that true beauty encompasses more than just appearance; it’s about confidence, self-love, and feeling one’s best. We incorporate this ethos into everything we do, from the luxury of our services to the quality of our products and expertise. Our environment is crafted to be a sanctuary for women, where they can relax, refresh, and leave with a renewed sense of empowerment.

“There are no shortcuts to building a successful brand.”

What values and leadership principles guide you in managing both Trèsind and Queens Beauty Lounge?

Customer satisfaction is our foremost priority at both Trèsind and Queens Beauty Lounge. Our philosophy is straightforward: “The guest is our God, and the guest is always right.” We never decline our clients and consistently go above and beyond to meet their desires. This dedication to excellence has enabled us to cultivate strong, enduring relationships with our clientele.

What are some of the main challenges you encounter as an entrepreneur, and how do you address them?

Establishing a brand from scratch is certainly challenging. A significant hurdle is building trust amidst fierce competition. This requires considerable effort and consistency to stand out. Both the hospitality and salon sectors rely heavily on service, making it vital to find the right talent. Retaining a skilled team has been one of my greatest challenges, but thanks to my husband’s strong leadership and our commitment to quality, we’ve developed a brand that speaks for itself.

How significant is storytelling in design, and how do you apply it to craft immersive brand experiences?

The essence of a restaurant or salon should tell a story that resonates with individuals on an emotional level. At Trèsind, we leverage storytelling to create a multi-sensory dining experience, encompassing tastes, presentation, and ambiance. At Queens Beauty Lounge, we aim for a warm, elegant, and inviting space, ensuring each client feels treasured from the moment they enter. Every detail is crucial; it’s not solely about aesthetics but also about the emotional atmosphere a space evokes.

How do you manage the balance of being a mother and an entrepreneur?

Finding balance is an ongoing challenge, but effective time management and prioritization are essential. I strive to devote quality time to both my family and business without sacrificing either. Having a robust support system personally and professionally greatly aids this balance. Additionally, I believe in being fully engaged in whatever I’m doing, whether that’s spending time with my children or steering a business meeting.

What advice would you offer to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build impactful brands?

Passion and perseverance are crucial. A strong work ethic, unwavering determination, and commitment are key components. There are no shortcuts to establishing a successful brand; thorough investment in your vision, continuous learning, and readiness to adapt are essential. Surround yourself with the right people and be willing to take risks.
