Sultan bin Ahmed Appreciates Sharjah University’s Achievement of Platinum Ranking

On May 28, 2025, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, officially inaugurated the UAE Future 50 – Emirati List of Future Companies. This joint effort between the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Government Development and the Future Office took place at Emirates Towers in Dubai.

This initiative is part of the Riyada entrepreneurship framework, which aims to strengthen the local startup ecosystem and foster innovation in the nation.

The UAE Future 50 list aims to recognize and celebrate some of the most promising Emirati-led businesses across 15 significant economic sectors, including fintech, healthtech, edtech, agritech, space, renewable energy, and cybersecurity, among others.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the UAE leadership’s dedication to supporting entrepreneurs and cultivating a thriving economic environment conducive to startups in innovative sectors. He acknowledged the vital role that Emirati innovators play in enhancing economic diversification and advancing future industries, contributing to the UAE’s competitiveness on a global scale, in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.

He further stressed the importance of entrepreneurs in transforming groundbreaking ideas into significant enterprises that contribute to the growth and diversification of the UAE’s dynamic economy. He encouraged inspiring the youth to delve into entrepreneurship and praised initiatives that empower and support entrepreneurs in achieving greater success.

The event was attended by key figures including Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future.

H.E. Al Roumi highlighted the UAE’s status as a global frontrunner in future readiness, driven by a robust innovation ecosystem and investment in local talent. She pointed out that the ‘UAE Future 50’ exemplifies Emirati entrepreneurs who are transforming visions into groundbreaking enterprises, supporting the government’s ambition to ready the economy for future challenges. She emphasized that these startups, in collaboration with established firms, will foster growth in crucial sectors and bolster the UAE’s competitive edge worldwide.

Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, reaffirmed the significance of innovative initiatives and Emirati talent in facilitating the UAE’s shift towards futuristic sectors and enhancing its international standing. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to sustainable growth and reinforcing the national economy.

The initiative aims to elevate promising Emirati startups in forward-thinking economic domains by offering tailored support to expedite their development, honoring entrepreneurial success, and celebrating the contributions of Emirati innovators. Additionally, it seeks to cultivate a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and inspire the next generation of local talent.

The launch of the ‘UAE Future 50’ was celebrated with a dedicated event recognizing these innovative enterprises. The gathering featured insights from Emirati entrepreneur and Dubai Chambers Board Member Faisal Belhoul, who discussed the principles of entrepreneurial success and the pivotal role of entrepreneurs in shaping the future economy.

The event attracted young entrepreneurs, investors, representatives from investment firms, incubators, accelerators, family-owned businesses, and major corporations. An exhibition of the featured startups provided attendees with a closer look at their innovative concepts, accomplishments, and paths to growth.

UAE startups have demonstrated significant growth potential, playing an essential role in job creation, economic diversification, and national development goals. Selected for their ability to enhance the competitiveness of the future economy, these companies mirror the country’s vision focused on innovation.

The ‘UAE Future 50’ is an extension of the Future 100 initiative, which was launched by the Government Development and the Future Office in conjunction with the Ministry of Economy. This program annually highlights emerging companies pioneering future-focused sectors, bolstering the UAE’s position in innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment. By recognizing and empowering high-potential ventures, Future 100 contributes to establishing a resilient, diversified, and globally competitive economy.
