The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, have formalized a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the ties between the two nations. This initiative seeks to expand collaboration across various sectors beneficial to both countries and their people.
Additionally, the leaders witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding covering diverse areas such as transport, energy, tourism, media, judiciary, and workforce development, along with shipbuilding and the establishment of a UAE-Azerbaijan Business Council.
Included in these agreements are: a memorandum between Abu Dhabi Holding and Azerbaijan Investment Holding; a memorandum focusing on exploring development and investment opportunities in renewable and clean energy projects within certified green energy zones in Azerbaijan; and another agreement on utilizing artificial intelligence in education through the development of an AI-driven virtual teacher to support students.
There is also an initiative for an intelligent lesson assistant to facilitate teachers’ work in schools, in addition to a memorandum aimed at executing Azerbaijan’s artificial intelligence strategy for the period 2025-2028. This strategy focuses on advancing AI, promoting technology and digital transformation, as well as developing talent ecosystems, startups, and innovation.
These agreements were exchanged between UAE Minister of State Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of members from the accompanying delegation of the UAE President and various ministers and senior officials from Azerbaijan.
