Organizers of the “Global Solidarity Fleet,” which aims to deliver aid to Gaza, reported that Israeli forces targeted them with “flare bombs, explosive flares, and suspected chemical substances” as they approached the war-torn region.
The group “Code Pink” posted on social media early Wednesday morning, stating that “Israeli occupation forces launched at least 11 attacks on the Global Solidarity Fleet while it was approximately 600 nautical miles (1,100 kilometers) away from Gaza.”
The statement continued: “Israel is instilling fear among humanitarian workers carrying aid in international waters. We demand safe passage for the fleet. End the siege on Gaza now.”
The fleet shared a video through their media channels early Wednesday, showcasing what they claimed were “sonic bombs, which are non-lethal explosive devices commonly used by police or military forces. They are designed to temporarily disorient individuals without causing permanent harm, making them a tool for crowd dispersal or hostage situations.”
Activists reported that “explosive flares” and “substances suspected to be chemical” were used against the boats, along with sightings of “unidentified drones” and “communication jamming.”
The fleet communicated via Telegram, stating: “We are witnessing these psychological operations first-hand right now, but we will not allow ourselves to be intimidated.”
