The Sudanese embassy in the United Arab Emirates continued its operations yesterday, affirming its position against the decision made by the Port Sudan Authority—a faction involved in the ongoing conflict in Sudan—to sever diplomatic ties with the UAE. The embassy emphasized that this authority does not represent the legitimate government of Sudan or its people.
From the start of the working day, the embassy welcomed members of the Sudanese community, diligently attending to their requests and streamlining various procedures. This dedication had a profound impact on the community members, who expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the embassy’s role.
Additionally, the Consulate General of the Republic of Sudan in Dubai provides 20 electronic services accessible via its official website. These services include verification of educational certificates, sponsorship certificates, kinship certificates, certificates for ongoing transactions, and school qualifications. Other services listed on cgsudan-dubai.ae encompass birth certificate verification, name duplication confirmations, certificates of non-marriage, visa requests from Arab consulates, power of attorney, marriage contracts, divorce documentation, and university certificate verification, among others.
Residents of Sudan who spoke with the local press confirmed that all services for the authentication of official documents at the Sudanese embassy, including the issuance of official powers of attorney and related declarations and certificates, are functioning smoothly without any negative impact.
However, they noted that the electronic system for issuing and renewing passports for Sudanese citizens is currently halted. This suspension is not isolated to the Sudanese embassy in Abu Dhabi but is affecting all Sudanese embassies abroad, due to a temporary technical issue in the passport issuance system.
Members of the Sudanese community residing in the UAE acknowledged the efforts of the staff at the Sudanese Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, praising their commitment to continuing services and processing requests from Sudanese residents in the country.
