Trump Meets Al-Sharaa in Riyadh After Pledge to Lift Sanctions on Syria

On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump met with transitional Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Riyadh, as confirmed by a White House official following Trump’s pledge to ease sanctions on Syria.

According to a spokeswoman from the White House, the two leaders held their meeting prior to a larger gathering of Gulf leaders in Saudi Arabia during Trump’s regional tour.
