The United Arab Emirates has expressed its solidarity with the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria, offering heartfelt condolences for the victims of a passenger bus accident in the capital, Algiers, which resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed the UAE’s sincere sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as to the Algerian government and its people, wishing a swift recovery for all those injured.
Additionally, the President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Algeria, including its leadership, government, parliament, and citizens, regarding the casualties from the incident.
Al-Yamahi reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s support for Algeria during this tragic time, praying for the victims to find mercy and for their families to receive the strength to endure their loss.
According to reports from Algerian media, 18 individuals lost their lives, and 9 others sustained injuries last Friday when a passenger bus fell from a bridge into the Badr Valley in the capital city.
The reports indicated that 25 ambulances, 16 divers, and 4 inflatable boats were deployed to assist the victims.
