The United Arab Emirates has intensified its diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent the conflict in the region from widening, following Israeli military actions against Iran and the rising confrontations between the two nations.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed the current situation’s implications on regional security and stability with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, along with the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Italy, Turkey, Hungary, Syria, and India.
These discussions emphasized the importance of supporting diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve crises, contributing to the maintenance of regional and international security and stability.
Meanwhile, military escalations between Israel and Iran have continued for the fourth consecutive day, with an Israeli airstrike targeting an Iranian television building after threats from Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant. In retaliation, Iran launched a new wave of missiles and drones toward Israel.
As Tehran announced its readiness to execute one of the largest and most intense missile attacks on Israeli territories, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at the potential for assassinating Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, considering this action could help alleviate tensions in the region.
In related developments, reports suggest that U.S. President Donald Trump may present a new proposition to Iran as a “final opportunity” to revive negotiations concerning its nuclear program. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that a single phone call from Washington could suffice to halt the war and pave the way back to diplomacy.
