A spokesperson for the United Nations stated on Thursday that nuclear testing is strictly prohibited “under any circumstances,” following President Donald Trump’s decision to resume these tests in the United States.
Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, emphasized that the Secretary-General has repeatedly expressed that the current nuclear risks are alarmingly high and must be avoided. He stated, “All actions that could lead to misjudgment or escalation, which might have severe consequences, should be avoided… Nuclear tests cannot be permitted under any circumstances.
