University of the Emirates Hosts International Conference on Climate Action and Sustainability

The United Arab Emirates University organized the inaugural International Conference on Climate Action and Sustainability (ICCAS-2025) from October 7 to 10, 2025, on its campus in Al Ain. The event saw the participation of His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibah, the Cultural Advisor to the President, who welcomed a diverse group of experts and specialists from across the globe.

The President of UAE University expressed his pleasure at the convening of this significant scientific event, which brings together a distinguished assembly of experts, researchers, and students from around the world to deliberate on critical issues concerning the planet’s future and the sustainability of its resources.

In his address, he stated, “The hosting of this conference reflects the UAE’s commitment and the vision inspired by our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He believed that environmental care is inherently tied to the well-being of humanity.”

He continued, “Sheikh Zayed’s enduring legacy of respecting nature and achieving a balance between development and environmental preservation continues to guide our nation towards a sustainable future. We bear the responsibility of the resources that we will pass on to future generations.”

His Excellency Nusseibah also noted that “this conference serves not merely as a scientific platform but as a bridge connecting nations, disciplines, and generations. It offers a chance to share knowledge, raise questions, and explore innovative solutions that intertwine thought, action, science, and society, fostering hope for a more balanced and sustainable future.”

The four-day program features research presentations, scientific posters, and specialized discussion panels, along with keynote speeches delivered by global experts.

Participants will delve into eight primary research tracks, including: clean energy and batteries, carbon capture and utilization, additive manufacturing and advanced vehicles, sustainable catalysts, space and artificial intelligence for sustainability, the interconnection between energy, water, and food, green innovations in construction, and education, policies, and circular economics.

The conference attracts academics, researchers, industry experts, environmental consultants, government agencies, NGOs, and graduate students, providing special initiatives to support students through free abstract submissions and the publication of accepted papers in peer-reviewed journals.
