Blessing Muzarabani Faces Two-Year PSL Ban Following IPL Transfer

Medha Shankr, known for her appearance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film “12th Fail,” is set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy “Ginny Wedss Sunny 2” alongside Avinash Tiwary. As the film’s release approaches, Shankr has opened up about her experiences within the industry.

During recent promotional activities, she addressed whether she has faced humiliation on set. While she stated that she has not had negative experiences during filming, she did acknowledge feeling sidelined in other professional contexts, particularly during industry events and interactions with designers.

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Shankr recounted instances of subtle exclusion at events, particularly those linked to fashion styling. Although she does not harbor resentment, she noted that these experiences prompt questions about the underlying rules of the industry. She expressed that such situations can feel awkward and uncomfortable, even if she understands they are a part of professional etiquette.

Shankr described instances where it was clear that certain designers would not extend their outfits to her, saying, “At events, with designers, you know small things like ‘this designer will not give his outfit to you.’ Of course, it doesn’t matter to me, but I do remember your names… So definitely, there I have felt a little absurd.” Her remarks illustrate the subtle dynamics that can often shape interactions in the film industry.

Avinash Tiwary weighed in on Shankr’s comments, offering a broader view on the power structures at play within the industry. He pointed out that those in influential positions might expect the industry to operate according to their preferences. Tiwary expressed admiration for individuals who resist the pressures associated with such dynamics, emphasizing the importance of staying true to oneself despite external expectations.

He further elaborated on the shifting landscape of respect within the industry, noting that once, individuals who could not be easily influenced were held in high regard. Tiwary underscored that integrity should not be compromised due to monetary or social status, and those who remain steadfast ultimately carve their own paths in the industry.

Reflecting on the broader context, he remarked, “Whatever games are being played, we are not here because of anyone’s favour. She is also not here because of anyone’s favour. Everyone is here because of their own talent, so there is no need to fear or overthink so much.”

“Ginny Wedss Sunny 2” is set to hit theaters on April 24. The film features a diverse ensemble cast that includes Lillete Dubey, Sudhir Pandey, Govind Namdev, Gopi Bhalla, Nayani Dixit, Vishwanath Chatterjee, and Rohit Chaudhary in significant roles. It is produced by Zee Studios and Soundrya Production, with Vinod Bachchan and Umesh Kumar Bansal at the helm.
