The Bollywood film “Dhurandhar,” which has garnered success at the box office, has recently seen a reduction in ticket prices as it faces its first significant drop in earnings. This strategic move comes as the film’s popularity begins to wane after a month-long impressive run.
Jio Studios, the film’s production house, announced a limited-time offer through social media, setting a flat ticket price of ₹199 available all day. The message encouraged fans not to miss out on this promotional deal, although it applies only to select cinemas and showtimes.
The standard ticket price for “Dhurandhar” has been around ₹250-260 across India, making this discount noteworthy. While it translates to about ₹50 off in most theatres, the reduction may be negligible for audiences in certain tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where average prices can vary.
This ticket price cut follows a notable decline in box office performance. On Monday, the film experienced a drop of 60-65% in collections both domestically and internationally, marking the first time it failed to gross ₹10 crore in a day since its release. Despite this dip, “Dhurandhar” enjoyed an impressive 28-day reign as the number one film at the Indian box office.
As of now, “Dhurandhar” has achieved remarkable box office figures, reportedly earning ₹800 crore net in India and over ₹1200 crore gross worldwide. The film features a notable cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt. Fans can look forward to a sequel, with Part 2 scheduled for release in March.
