The release of Yash Raj Films’ upcoming spy thriller, Alpha, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has been postponed for a second time. This decision follows the announcement that the film, originally slated for release on April 17, 2026, will now be rescheduled to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s war drama, Battle of Galwan.
Film industry analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news via a tweet, emphasizing that YRF has decided to step aside for Salman Khan’s project. The updated release date will be determined after evaluating the theatrical calendar in the coming months.
This postponement is not the first for Alpha, which was initially set for a Christmas 2025 debut. The film’s release was previously delayed due to the need for additional post-production time, including extensive visual effects work. While a new release date has yet to be confirmed, it is now anticipated that Alpha will premiere in the latter half of 2026.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is notable for being the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, which also encompasses the Tiger and War franchises, as well as Pathaan. The film was teased in a post-credits scene of War 2 released earlier this year. Alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the cast includes Bobby Deol, making it the first female-led spy thriller from YRF.
