Elgaddafe Secures Dramatic Victory at 13th Sharjah Senior Golf Open

Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club (SGSC) recently hosted the 2026 Senior Open Championship, where Mohamed Elgaddafe emerged victorious. His impressive performance included nine net birdies and a net eagle, culminating in a total of 41 Stableford points, which secured him the title.

The championship showcased the talents of the UAE’s top senior golfers, creating a backdrop of fierce competition. Elgaddafe expressed his excitement about winning at such a prestigious venue, emphasizing the excellent condition of the course and the high level of competition.

Ajaz Ahmed also finished strong with 41 points but narrowly missed the top spot on a countback, reflecting the intense competition throughout the event. Suresh Shewakramani earned third place with a commendable score of 39 points, rounding out the podium.

In the Super Senior Division, Vikar Mustafa claimed victory by accumulating 38 Stableford points. Shaheen Butt, a former SGSC Club Captain, took second place with 35 points, illustrating the enduring skill present in the club’s senior ranks.

Anuj Anand’s performance in the Gross Division was noteworthy, as he finished with 30 gross points, thereby winning the title of the 13th SGSC Senior Open Gross Champion.

Throughout the day, participants praised both the competitive spirit of the event and the immaculate condition of the course, which served as an ideal venue for this significant senior tournament.

Sam McLaren, Director of Golf at SGSC, highlighted the club’s commitment to fostering senior golf in the region and expressed eagerness to uphold its tradition of hosting high-quality senior competitions.
