Equestrian Spectacle: Al Shira’aa International Horse Show Kicks Off in UAE

Equestrian sport continues to flourish in the UAE, with the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show set to take place in Abu Dhabi from January 20 to 25, 2026. This highly anticipated ninth edition, under the Honorary Presidency of HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, marks a new era for the event as it moves to the Al Forsan International Sports Resort, a premier venue known for hosting elite equestrian competitions.

As one of the region’s top international show jumping events, the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show will feature over 350 horses and 150 riders from diverse regions, including Europe and the Middle East. These competitors will participate in an extensive array of classes, promising a captivating experience for equestrian enthusiasts and casual spectators alike.

Over the six-day event, participants will vie for a share of the prize fund, which exceeds €700,000. The highlight will be the Al Shira’aa Longines CSI4-W FEI World Cup™ Grand Prix*, a significant competition on the global show jumping calendar that attracts some of the best talent in the sport.

The 2026 competition schedule includes a variety of classes such as CSI4-W, CSI2, CSI Young Horses, CSI Under 25, CSI Juniors, CSI Children, and CSI Amateurs**. This diverse lineup showcases the event’s dedication to fostering equestrian talent at all levels, from budding riders to seasoned champions.

Admission to the event is complimentary, and visitors are encouraged to register online beforehand. The venue will open its gates daily at 09:00, welcoming fans, families, and newcomers to enjoy the thrilling world of show jumping in a welcoming atmosphere.

In addition to the equestrian competitions, the event will feature a vibrant Village that serves as a social hub.
