Intense competition is anticipated in the upcoming IPL mini auction, where ten franchises will seek to secure top-tier talent from a carefully curated list of 405 players. Among the notable names available are Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, and Mayank Agarwal. The auction will take place in Kochi, southern India, and promises to be a pivotal event for team strategies.
The player roster has been streamlined, allowing franchises to fill 87 available slots, including a maximum of 30 overseas players. This year’s auction will see participation from teams eager to enhance their rosters.

With a total of 10 franchises involved, the player pool is divided into 273 Indian players and 132 overseas players, alongside four cricketers from associate nations. Notably, of the 405 available players, 119 have played at the international level, while 296 are uncapped talents.
The auction will also highlight a considerable age range among the players, featuring the youngest participant, Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar from Afghanistan, at just 15 years old, and the oldest, Amit Mishra from India, aged 40.
The financial capabilities of the franchises vary significantly, with each team bringing a different budget to the auction. For instance, Sunrisers Hyderabad leads the pack with ₹422.5 million (approximately Dh18.7 million), followed by Punjab Kings with ₹322 million (Dh14.29 million). Other franchises, such as Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians, have budgets of ₹233.5 million (Dh10.36 million) and ₹205.5 million (Dh9.11 million), respectively.
Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals are close contenders with amounts of ₹204.5 million (Dh9.07 million) and ₹194.5 million (Dh8.63 million). The Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Kolkata Knight Riders round out the list with varying budgets, reflecting their respective strategies and aims for the season ahead.
