As the world of golf gears up for the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates, excitement is brewing within Dubai’s social golf scene. The Ultimate Golf Challenge (UGC) Season 3 Player Auction is set to take place in less than three weeks, drawing significant interest from local golfers.
Scheduled for March 2026, this season of the UAE’s leading franchise-based team competition promises a thrilling format featuring 160 players divided into 10 teams of 16. Following the successes of the Petrochem Condors and the Noble Legacy Masters in previous seasons, the UGC continues to evolve, incorporating larger fields and new venues to enhance the golfing experience.
The upcoming Player Auction will occur at The Pavilion, Emirates Golf Club, on December 5, where team principals will bid to bring in new talent while retaining existing players. Each team will secure eight new golfers while maintaining a balanced mix of skills across low, mid, and high handicaps, including at least two female players to promote inclusivity and strategic depth.
Prospective players are urged to register before the December 1 deadline, with an entry fee of AED 450. Eligible participants must possess a valid EGF handicap, be UAE residents for at least six months, and be available for at least one tournament day. Those not chosen during the auction will receive a full refund, ensuring that social golfers are motivated to join the competition.
Kunal Seth, Commissioner of the UGC, emphasized the urgency of registration, warning that spots are limited. He highlighted the competition’s rapid growth and its success in uniting amateur talent across the UAE, promising a season that includes new venues and an expansive player roster for an even more engaging experience.
The season will commence at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on February 5, 2026, the region’s first beachfront golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. The inaugural round will be followed by three additional rounds held at esteemed Dubai courses, culminating with the finale on May 7 at the Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club, which will feature prize distributions and a celebratory after-party.
Recognitions will highlight achievements throughout the tournament, including awards for the top three teams, outstanding individual performances, daily brilliance, and accolades for the best female golfer, fostering a spirit of competition and celebration among participants.
Important dates for UGC Season 3 are as follows: Registration closes on December 1, 2025; the Player Auction takes place on December 5 at 6:00 PM at The Pavilion; and tournament rounds will run from February 5 to May 7, 2026, with additional rounds held on February 26, April 2, and the grand finale on May 7, complete with an after-party beginning at 6:30 PM.
With enthusiasm peaking, the UGC Season 3 promises to be an exciting chapter for golf enthusiasts in the UAE.
