From Barefoot Beginnings to IPL Stardom: The Remarkable Journey of Sakib

The Haryana State Commission for Women has summoned Haryanvi folk singer Masoom Sharma due to alleged verbal abuse at a college event in Dehradun. This summons follows a police case that was filed concerning the incident, which took place on April 10.

In response to the controversy, Masoom Sharma has indicated that he and his family have been subjected to harassment from individuals he describes as criminals. He claims that this pressure led to an aggressive outburst during his performance.

Sharma detailed his situation, explaining that he received threatening calls, which intensified his stress and emotional state. He acknowledged his behavior on stage, which he later deemed inappropriate, and has expressed regret over the incident.

The complaint against Sharma was lodged by Pranchal Nauni, who asserted that his comments hurt the feelings of students and attendees at the event. The police have registered the case under FIR No. 63/2026, citing multiple legal sections pertaining to obscenity, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation among others.

The Dehradun Police have confirmed the registration of the FIR and stated that they will conduct a thorough investigation in accordance with legal procedures. At this time, Masoom Sharma and his representatives have not issued any further comments regarding the matter.

Known for his unique blend of traditional Haryanvi folk and modern pop music, Masoom Sharma gained popularity with hits like “2 Numbari” and “Madam Ji.” His musical career has made him a prominent figure in the Haryanvi music scene.
