From Spectator to Star: A Pakistani Hero Emerges in Sharjah

Sunny Deol recently had a meaningful visit with the family of Param Vir Chakra awardee Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, whose story is depicted in the upcoming film “Border 2,” featuring Diljit Dosanjh. The actor took to Instagram to share a photo from the meeting, describing it as a “warm and memorable” experience while honoring the legacy and bravery of Sekhon and his family.

In his post, Sunny Deol expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet Sekhon’s family and emphasized the heartfelt connection they share. He highlighted Sekhon’s heroic story, which will be showcased in “Border 2,” stating, “#Border2 is a salute to all soldiers and their families who carry their legacy with quiet courage.”

The film “Border 2” is directed and co-written by Anurag Singh and serves as a sequel to the iconic 1997 war film “Border,” directed by J.P. Dutta. It has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta under T-Series Films and J.P. Films. This sequel aims to amplify the original film’s narrative by presenting a multi-front war involving the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

Set during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, “Border 2” features Sunny Deol as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler, who is portrayed as a commanding officer giving guidance to young soldiers played by Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Additionally, the film includes important roles by Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana. The movie has reportedly grossed ₹95.75 crore globally thus far, reflecting a positive response and strong box office performance, which highlights audience enthusiasm for patriotic war dramas.
