Elli AvrRam, a versatile actress known for her work in Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi cinema, has recently shared her insights on the notable differences between working in Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. In her reflections, she emphasized the more organized and respectful atmosphere prevalent in South film sets compared to the hustle and bustle often associated with Bollywood.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Elli highlighted that while she has enjoyed positive experiences in both sectors, the contrasting working styles stood out to her. She noted, “In Bollywood, it’s more hurried. In the South, they prefer to use walkie-talkies instead of shouting and screaming.” Elli shared a vivid contrast about the pace on Bollywood sets, stating that even during meal times, actors are often rushed for their next shot, where their wellbeing seems secondary to production demands.
Despite her critiques, she acknowledged that experiences can differ greatly based on the team involved. Elli mentioned a recent project with Netflix where the crew prioritized the comfort of all actors. Describing this experience, she called it a “beautiful experience,” reflecting a more caring approach in that particular workspace.
In addition, Elli expressed her views on storytelling dynamics, especially concerning opportunities available for female actors. She remarked, “I definitely feel the South has more opportunities for content-driven films for female actors than Bollywood.” This observation underscores the challenges female performers face in Bollywood, where typecasting remains a concern. Elli feels fortunate for her role in “Malang,” which allowed her to showcase a different facet of her acting abilities.
Elli AvrRam began her career in Bollywood with her debut in the 2013 film “Mickey Virus,” alongside Maniesh Paul. That same year, she gained significant attention by participating in Salman Khan’s reality show “Bigg Boss 7.” Her presence and interactions on the show contributed to her growing popularity. She further established herself in the industry with notable performances in successful films such as “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon” in 2015.
Her filmography has continued to expand over the years, featuring roles in productions like “Malang,” “Naane Varuvean,” “Goodbye,” “Ganapath,” and “Conjuring Kannappan.” Most recently, she made a special appearance in “Be Happy,” which starred Abhishek Bachchan and Nora Fatehi. Through her diverse roles, Elli AvrRam has carved out a distinct space for herself in the competitive landscape of Indian cinema.
