Indian Golfers Society Brings Excitement to Saadiyat Beach Golf Club

The Indian Golfers Society (IGS) achieved a significant milestone last weekend by hosting its inaugural tournament at the renowned Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. This event attracted 92 players, creating an atmosphere filled with competition and camaraderie at one of the UAE’s premier golfing venues.

The IGS Challenge, set against the scenic backdrop of Saadiyat Beach, embodied the society’s core values: a passion for golf and the importance of networking. Since its establishment nearly 30 years ago, these principles have guided the organization, fostering connections among its members.

Participants showcased impressive skill levels, leading to notable performances across various categories. In the Elite division, Arkesh Bhatia took the top spot with a gross score of one over par, highlighting the exceptional level of play displayed throughout the day. Arjun Khanna stood out in Division A, while Nikhil Kohli emerged victorious in Division B. In the Ladies’ division, Satnam Kaur delivered a remarkable performance to claim victory, and Mohammed Darwish won the Invitee category.

The tournament’s success was augmented by the support of IGS’s partners, including Pernod Ricard, Nexus Insurance, BMW, Taj, Brain Performance, Viya Golf, Cellar Advisory, and Golf Superstore. Their contributions significantly enhanced the overall tournament experience. The Golf Superstore demonstrated its commitment by providing IGS-branded Titleist duffel bags, a gesture that was well-received by members and winners.

Since its founding in 1996, IGS has grown to over 140 members, comprising high-net-worth individuals, professionals, and executives. The organization typically kicks off its season with the Indian Independence Golf Cup and wraps up with an Annual Dinner, complemented by regular tournaments and exclusive international golfing trips for members.

The Saadiyat Beach tournament followed closely after the IGS Independence Day Cup, reinforcing the society’s early-season momentum and its capacity to seamlessly blend competitive golf with exceptional hospitality. This inaugural event at Saadiyat marked a significant statement about IGS’s evolution and its role in UAE’s thriving golfing community.

The results of the tournament included:

– Winner – Invitee: Mohammed Darwish
– Winner – Ladies: Satnam Kaur
– Winner – Elite Category: Arkesh Bhatia (Gross: 1-over-par)
– Winner – Division A: Arjun Khanna
– Winner – Division B: Nikhil Kohli
