Murray and James Claim Overall Victory in JGE Pairs Championship

Just two weeks after the exciting conclusion of the 2025 DP World Tour Championship, the Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted the November edition of the Jumeirah Pairs Tournament. The Earth Course was filled with friendly competition as 108 members and their guests took part in the event.

The tournament utilized a Pairs Scramble Stableford format, with male competitors playing from the Composite Tees while female players teed off from the Forward Tees, enhancing the challenge for all participants.

The contest fervently unfolded, with the top twelve pairs only two strokes apart, resulting in a thrilling finish. Ultimately, the duo of Stuart Murray and Adam James clinched the title with an impressive nine under-par score, net 63, following a tense countback on the back nine.

“The Earth Course played exceptionally well today,” Murray remarked after his round. He praised the Agronomy Team at Jumeirah Golf Estates for their dedication to maintaining the championship-quality conditions of the course. “I’m incredibly proud to be a Member of this club,” he added.

In the Gross Division, Neil and Ryder Eatson, a father-son team, achieved a remarkable triumph by posting seven under-par, 65, winning on a countback. Neil expressed his joy, stating, “We got off to a fantastic start with a birdie and an eagle early on and kept up the momentum throughout. Playing with my son made it even more special – what a pleasure to secure the gross win on the Earth Course.”

The Net Division runner-up position was claimed by James Finnigan and David Marshall, who narrowly surpassed Nicholas Whiteford and Christopher Incledon on a countback, both finishing at eight under-par, net 64.

The day concluded with a buffet lunch and award ceremony at Tap and Grill, celebrating another successful installment of this monthly tournament.

Cameron McWhinnie, Assistant Golf Services Manager, represented the Golf Operations Team, expressing enthusiasm for the event. “We sincerely hope you enjoyed playing the Earth Course today. It remains in outstanding condition just two weeks after Matthew Fitzpatrick’s victory at the DP World Tour Championship. It’s fantastic to see so many members out here, taking on the course that recently hosted such a significant event,” he stated.
