Pakistan Mobilizes Military Forces for the Safety of Sri Lankan Cricketers

Walt Disney Studios has released the first teaser for its live-action adaptation of “Moana.” While the clip is brief, it captures the essence of the original story and setting. The filmmakers aim to rebuild the world of Motunui with familiar visuals, evoking the warmth and affection that resonated with audiences in the animated version.

The teaser offers a sweeping view of the shoreline, reminiscent of the animated film, with a greater sense of scale and physicality. The overall aesthetic is both grounded and soft, drawing viewers into the lush environment.

In this new adaptation, Catherine Laga’aia takes on the role of Moana, introduced right at the beginning of the teaser as she performs a few lines from the beloved song “How Far I’ll Go.” Her presence is central, establishing a strong connection to the original character.

Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui, although he is not fully revealed in the teaser. A quick silhouette hints at his significant role, generating excitement for his return to the character that fans adore.

Iconic characters also make appearances, including Hei-Hei, who waddles through the scene, maintaining the charm of the original film. Maui’s impressive form is briefly glimpsed, emphasizing his importance in Moana’s journey.

The cast features John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina, and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala. Directed by Thomas Kail, known for his work in Broadway’s “Hamilton,” the adaptation brings theatricality to the story’s vibrant island culture. Auli‘i Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the animated version, serves as an executive producer to ensure authenticity.

The live-action “Moana” is set to release in India on July 10, 2026. As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see how Disney will blend nostalgia with fresh visuals in this beloved tale.
