Playoff Showdown: Qavalry, Stallions, Titans, and Bulls Gear Up

The Abu Dhabi T10 league phase has concluded, setting the stage for exciting playoff matches at the Zayed Cricket Stadium. On Saturday, Quetta Qavalry will face Aspin Stallions in Qualifier 1, while Ajman Titans will meet UAE Bulls in the Eliminator.

The outcome of Qualifier 1 will determine which team advances to Sunday’s final. The losing side will still have a chance for redemption, as they will face the winner of the Eliminator for another shot at the final.

In the final matches of the league phase held on Thursday, the UAE Bulls secured a victory over Ajman Titans by three wickets, while Royal Champs triumphed against Quetta Qavalry by 14 runs. Additionally, Deccan Gladiators defeated Vista Riders by 19 runs.

Kieron Pollard played a pivotal role in the UAE Bulls’ win against Ajman Titans. After an early disruption where Wasim Akram claimed two quick wickets, the Bulls chased down a target of 127 runs, finishing with one over to spare. Tim David’s explosive innings of 40 runs off just 12 balls helped shift the momentum, showcasing five sixes and two fours before being dismissed by Piyush Chawla.

Sunil Narine contributed significantly, scoring 26 runs off 13 balls. Although he was dismissed by Chris Green when the team was at 82 for five, Romario Shepherd and Pollard completed the chase. Pollard’s unbeaten 27 runs off 11 balls, which included three sixes, propelled the Bulls to victory in just nine overs.

The Ajman Titans had a decent start with contributions from Aneurin Donald and Alex Hales, who accumulated 24 runs off 11 balls and 13 runs off 7 balls, respectively. Their partnership laid a solid foundation for a total of 36 runs. Riley Rossouw and Joe Clarke also made valuable contributions, scoring 26 runs off 12 balls and 15 runs off 8 balls. Moeen Ali was the top scorer for the Titans, finishing unbeaten on 29 runs off 11 balls, with two fours and two sixes to his name. Qais Ahmad emerged as the standout bowler for the Bulls, taking two wickets for 23 runs.

As the playoffs approach, teams are ready to battle for the championship in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the tournament.
