Rayhan Thomas, a golfer born in Dubai, is gearing up for Stage Two of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School in Savannah, Georgia. As he aims for a spot on the tour for 2026, this week marks a significant step in his journey.
At 26 years old, Thomas narrowly missed a top 75 finish in the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points Table, concluding the season in 88th place. This position granted him Conditional Status for the upcoming year, keeping his hopes alive for future opportunities.
His performance in Stage One qualifying in Nebraska last month was commendable. With an impressive total score of 15 under par (269), Thomas completed rounds of 67, 69, 67, and 66, tying for fourth place and securing his advancement to the next stage.
The next competition will take place at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club from December 2 to 5, where he has previously competed at this stage. The course, designed by Tom Fazio, is laid out over 7,049 yards and is a par 72.
In this stage, 76 players will compete, with around the top 20 earners and ties moving on to the Final Qualifying stage at TPC Sawgrass in Florida from December 11 to 14. This final round provides a critical chance for amateurs to secure their futures on the tour, with the top five finishers earning full PGA Tour cards.
The qualifying process for the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour kicked off in August with Stage One hosted at twelve different venues. Thomas had an advantage as a 2025 tour card-holder, which exempted him from the Pre-Qualifying stages.
Discussing his upcoming challenges with Khaleej Times, Thomas expressed enthusiasm about competing at a familiar venue. He mentioned, “Having played well on the course in the past gives me confidence. I feel strong physically and mentally after my break.”
As the weather is expected to be unpredictable, with cold and windy conditions, Thomas remains focused on his performance. “Playing my best is my priority this week,” he emphasized.
The Final Stage qualifying is crucial, with the top five players achieving full PGA Tour cards and the next 40 and ties receiving full Korn Ferry Tour memberships for 2026.
Thomas, who represents Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, has the support of sponsors such as Hero, Wilson, Cadillac, and Dubai Basketball as he pursues his goals on the professional golf circuit. Live scoring updates can be followed at: www.pgatq.bluegolf.com.
