The Indian Golfers Society (IGS) is set to host its signature IGS Challenge at the picturesque Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on December 11, 2025. This eagerly awaited event promises to deliver an exhilarating experience for participants and spectators alike.
This year’s competition features an upgraded structure aimed at enhancing the level of play. Over 100 golfers are expected to participate in the tournament, which will kick off with a shotgun start at 12:30 PM. Set on the region’s first oceanfront championship course, designed by Gary Player, the event will undoubtedly present challenges posed by the coastal winds and the stunning seaside backdrop.
Founded in 1996, the IGS continues to foster relationships among over 140 members, including professionals, business leaders, and affluent individuals in the UAE and Middle East. The Society is renowned for its premium golfing activities, ranging from the prestigious Indian Independence Golf Cup to its Annual Dinner, all of which reinforce the values of camaraderie and community.
The IGS Challenge introduces an updated tournament format this year, ensuring excitement across the leaderboard. Players will compete in three divisions under the Individual Stableford format:
Elite Division: Participants will play from the blue tees, competing for gross prizes with a handicap index cutoff. Up to three gross prizes will be awarded in this division.
Division A: Designed for players with a handicap index of 0–11.5, these golfers will compete off composite tees, with three net prizes available.
Division B: Catering to those with a handicap index of 11.6 and above, competitors in this division will also play off composite tees and compete for three net prizes.
Additionally, the event promises to keep the spirit of fun alive with nine special on-course prizes, ensuring all players, regardless of skill level, have a chance to win.
